Creativity & Yoga for Kids & Teens.

Traditional yoga practice for kids and teens blended with creative practices of weaving and stitching.

Each week we work through yoga postures to create a blissful calming space for the mind and body, which in turn, leads us into a creative practice of stitching and weaving. The health and wellbeing benefits of such practices include calming the mind, stretching and strengthening the body, confidence building, calming behavioural patterns, reducing stress levels and in turn aids in strong academic achievement.

Participants learn to slow down in this busy world, to take the time to ease the mind and are guided into a short meditation to end each class.

TERM 1 REMAINING DATES:
TUESDAY – 21st March & 28th March

Each week, towards the end of the yoga class,  we use a mini loom with recycled fabric ‘strips’ in a variety of colours or indeed minimalist ‘single’ colours.

We create a woven square / rectangle,  we weave a bit each week that is then linked together and sewn into a cushion.

The thought behind this simple process of weaving ‘ a little bit at the time’ is to move away from this notion of ‘quick creativity’
We learn that a slow, steady practice of both yoga (asana – postures) and weaving can help to ease a busy mind and create peace within and out.

Please fill in the registration form below to register your child / teen – you can always fill this in as a hard copy on the day – or click here.
